Welcome to the Boneo Fire Brigade
Boneo CFA is a proud voluntary organisation providing over 70 years of emergency service to the local Boneo community. This service extends to supporting our surrounding communities as well as communities across Victoria and the Country.
We are located at the southern end of the Mornington Peninsula on the corner of Boneo Road and Browns Road, Boneo. Being voluntary means the station is only manned Sunday mornings for our weekly maintenance duties.
Although Boneo is considered a “rural” area the brigade's emergency responses go beyond just fighting bushfires. Our active Fire-fighters are trained to attend a wide range of incidents including construction fires, road traffic accidents, hazardous and dangerous fuel spills and fires, search and rescue.....and of course even that good old stray cat stuck up a tree!
Supporting our active Fire-fighters the brigade's membership also includes; "Broader-based", whose duties include administrative, maintenance and fundraising work; and the "Junior Brigade" which is our Volunteer Development Programme for members aged 11 - 15 years old.
While we don't have a fire pole (the building is single storey) we do have a number of important pieces of equipment but none more important than our two resident tankers aptly named "Tanker 1" and "Tanker2".
Tanker 1 is a CFA owned vehicle capable of carrying 3000 litres of water while the smaller Tanker 2 is brigade owned and was purchased using funds generously donated from local residences and businesses.
Tanker 2 has recently been replaced, and joined by a Forward Control Vehicle, both having been funded from community donations and our tin rattles at the monthly Boneo Markets. Keep an eye open for upcoming Community Fundraising Events here.
If you are interested in joining or have any enquiries or even ideas for fundraising please feel free to drop by for a chat Sunday mornings. Or just give us a wave as you pass by!
